SATA RAID Bridge Non-Queued

The SATA RAID Bridge Non-Queued “Pegasus” (IPA-SA113A-BR) is a hardware design written in HDL that performs RAID 0 operations to provide higher performance and increased capacity access to drives.

The IPA-SA113A-BR SATA RAID Bridge can improve performance and increase the amount of storage by aggregating several drives to one. To the PC, the SATA RAID Bridge looks and acts like a single drive. The SATA RAID Bridge introduces very little latency to issue commands and to transfer data between the PC and SATA storage devices. The SATA RAID Bridge is designed to spread data across multiple drives with a configurable stripe size.

Applications of the SATA RAID Bridge Non-Queued

The SATA RAID Bridge allows multiple SATA drives to be mapped into a single logical unit to provide one
or more of the following characteristics:

  • RAID 0 striping
  • Increased storage capacity
  • Increased performance


Applications that may use the RAID Bridge include:

  • SSD manufacturers with a need to build larger drives using smaller capacity drives
  • High performance needs such as doubling of performance up to 540MB/s
  • Host systems with high performance requirements

  • Supports 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 GHz speed

  • Achieves scalable performance and capacity with number of drives
  • Supports RAID 0 or concatenation mode
  • Controllable stripe sizes from 512Bytes to 8kB
  • Non reduction capacity – ensures full use of connected drives’ LBA space
